Mommy, May I Wii now?

Remember when I told y'all about winning the Xbox 360?  Well the wife decided to get a Wii.  It was more like she wanted one and I didn't argue.  Now we have, like, his and hers gaming systems.

The 360 showed up.  We got Guitar Hero II & III.  Trogdor rules!! We got Rock Band.  Dude!!!  I was rockin' out.  Picked up Karaoke Revolution Presents: American Idol.  The boys were rockin' out.

Then the Wii arrived.  A stranger in our home.  In direct competition for the attention (and affection I now believe) of my family.  It allows you to bowl, to throw darts, to drive.  I have a little Angry Bald Mii that plays tennis.  I have also started in with the yoga.

That's right...Wii's younger sibling also arrived:  the Wii Fit.

Bridget had the distinction of trying it the Game Developer's Conference in San Francisco back in February.  She came home and told me about this weird little thing that connected to the Wii that you could snowboard on.  But since it was only in Japan there was no hurry.  So when I learned that it was being released in the states I went out and got her a Wii.

I don't want this to turn into a commercial but I gotta tell you this thing really is neat.  It has balance games (tightrope, marble thing),  aerobics (step, hula hoop),  yoga and strength training.  You even get a personal trainer that speaks without moving his/her lips.  Kinda creepy.

Needless to say with the arrival of the Wii also came the arrival of a plan.  Since I'm too cheap (and lazy, why lie?) to go to the gym I have decided to use the Wii Fit to my advantage.  With all the stuff on it I should surely be able to lose some weight using it.  All I have to do is find a routine and STICK TO IT!!!  This means no more fast food (Taco Bell...I'll miss you most of all,) no more sodas (what a world, what a world,) and doing some sort of exercise every single day (I'm melting...)  I also used all my Pepsi Stuff points to get a little armband thing to hold my iPod so I'll stop knocking it on the floor while I'm on the treadmill.  I have also decided to use July 1st as my starting point.  Sounded like a good enough date.

I will try to keep the updates on my weight loss weekly.  Try.
